Why You Need a Board Room

A boardroom is a space that allows your team to meet and discuss important issues that affect the success of your company. It is a space where decisions are made and it is essential that it is well-appointed and professionally designed.

Gensler’s research suggests that knowledge workers spend only 34% of their work time working on their own tasks. The rest of their time is spent in meetings. These meetings include department/team meetings, project meetings, all-hands meetings and one-on-1s. These meetings are essential for collaboration and making decisions. While a boardroom might be the ideal location to hold large-scale meetings, smaller ones can be held in your office. In a lot of cases group meetings, you may only require a single informative post conference table and two chairs.

Therefore your boardroom must be able to adapt and offer a variety of seating configurations to ensure the best meeting results. The seating arrangement you choose is essential and should be determined by the topic of discussion as well as your audience. A theatre layout, for example can give the talk weight and make the audience feel more connected. On the other hand, a classroom layout can be used to instruct and educate audience members.

Another thing to consider is the requirements for your AV. A modern boardroom must be equipped with digital whiteboards, display screens, and video conferencing technology to facilitate face-toface meetings. LED video walls have become popular because they are smaller and lighter than traditional projectors or monitors but still deliver the same quality of images.
